Secret gorges of the Gardon

The river, of a rare clearness, quietly flows between two bluish cliffs from where you will continually hear a cicadas chirp. There, South " nature " offers an imposing setting to your holidays.
Either by going down the Gardon from Collias near the Pont du Gard, imposing Roman aqueduct, under which you will silently glide over the water in your canoe. Superb ! Or upstream Collias, when the gorges are more secret, near the Pont-Saint-Nicolas (12th century) going through La Baume, phantom village, where it only remains few ruins (mill, inn, chapel...) but where persistent memories hang.
The one of an hermit, the one of Montand and Vanel too who came to do scenes of "Reward for fear" in the winding way to Poulx.

That area, formerly inhabited and today returned to its wild state, is of an amazing beauty. Leave for a moment your boat to go in search of its numerous prehistoric caves. Have a swim in its cool, clear water.

The Gardon "à la carte"

The Gardon, quiet in summer, enables the discovery of its gorges in canoe-kayak. Open to everyone providing that one can swim, they give the opportunity of an exciting, open air day with the family or between friends. In the programme: canoe, swimming, picnic at the water's edge, discovery of a listed and protected site.

COLLIAS-LA-BAUME
About 4 km - possible in summer. An easy circuit where you will go there and back with your boat. Wild, superb nature.

COLLIAS-LE PONT DU GARD
8 km, pleasant in half a day - possible from March to October. Circuit just as easy that ends in an apotheosis by going under the Roman aqueduct. Departure at any time. Return by bus till Collias.

RUSSAN-COLLIAS
22 km - average length one day - from March till Mai. Very nice, quiet circuit to do with a sufficient water level. Possibility of bivouac. View on cliffs of Castellas, the famous faces of climbing.

PONT SAINT NICOLAS-COLLIAS
11 km - 1 day or 1/2 a day - from March to June. Departure of buses mornings or early afternoon. Open to everyone. As on previous circuit, you will cross dams on foot.

Kayak vert at your disposal

We are there since 1978. So we perfectly know the river and its surroundings. A flexible structure, proper to greet groups as well as an ordinary person, personalized advice, the possibility of being with qualified instructors, a up-market equipment, a good organization: you are picked up at the appointed place and time, a warm welcome... are at your disposal for a successful "adventure".

Kayak vert practice

We have more of 350 boats (canoes 2 & 3 places, kayaks simple and double, mini-kayaks) with life jackets and watertight containers. We also propose neoprene canoeing suits to those who are fond of sports going down in spring.
To assure your transport and the one of boats, we have a bus fleet that operates a shuttle service every hour. Possibility of putting up at a hotel or going camping.
